BACKGROUND:
- McArdle, of Hampton Bays, is a former Southampton Town police detective, having also been a lead union contract negotiator with the department, according to his biographical information on the Southampton Town GOP website.
- McArdle joined the Southampton Town Police Department in 1988, having patrolled as an officer in Flanders, Riverside and Northampton and later being promoted to detective. McArdle held the rank for 15 years before retiring in 2005.
- McArdle was previously the Southampton Police Benevolent Association president for three consecutive terms. He is also listed as a co-founder of CM Security Consulting Inc., a New York State-licensed private investigative company in Hampton Bays which specializes in event security, and Peoplepool Valet Service, Inc., a parking management company.
