Ianfolla says, "There are no issues . . . We do our best to put a fair value on each home on Shelter Island." Homes are assessed every year, and there are no political undercurrents to the job, she added.
Ianfolla, 57, has been a Shelter Island resident for 21 years, and has spent eight years as a town assessor. Before working for the town, she was the account clerk for the Shelter Island School District. Ianfolla received her bachelor's degree in psychology in 1979 at Stony Brook University. She has a master's degree in psychology from Brown University in 1981. She is not registered with a political party, but is on the Democratic, Republican and Independence party lines.
