BACKGROUND:
- Seddio, 56, of Shelter Island, is running unopposed and is cross-endorsed by Democrats and Republicans. She is seeking her third four-year term as tax receiver. She was appointed in 2014 to fill an unexpired term, elected to fill the remaining year of that term and then ran successfully in 2015 and 2019.
- She has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Hofstra University and an associate degree in mathematics from SUNY Farmingdale.
- She is assistant chief and an EMT with the town emergency medical services and has been an active member of outreach at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church since 2001.
