March job levels on Long Island
The total, non-farm job count on Long Island rose 17,300 to more than 1.33 million in March 2018 compared with the same month a year earlier, according to the state Labor Department.
Sectors leading the gains were: trade, transportation and utilities, up 7,300; professional and business services, up 5,100; leisure and hospitality, up 3,800; and construction, natural resources and mining, up 3,100.
