Long Island unemployment levels in April

The overall unemployment rate for April 2017 sits at 3.9 percent, just where it was a year earlier, according to data from the state’s Department of Labor. However, the rate rose over year-over-year the year for Nassau County as well as for the city of Long Beach, the towns of Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Huntington, Smithtown and Southampton, and the village of Lindenhurst.
