Top 100 books at Nassau, Suffolk libraries

"The Girl on the Train" was the most circulated book in both the Nassau and Suffolk library systems in 2016, according to data from the two counties. Here are the top 100 books in each county along with circulation numbers for each.

One caveat: a book's circulation may have as much to do with popularity as it does with the number of copies each library orders. If librarians anticipate more demand for certain books they can order more copies, leading to higher numbers. You can read more about Long Island library traffic here.

This database, which covers 62 of the 63 libraries in Suffolk and 51 of the 54 libraries in Nassau, was posted on March 2, 2017.
