2022-23 teacher and administrator pay
Public education employees statewide, excluding New York City, were paid $18.5 billion during the 2022-23 school year, according to data reported to the New York State Teachers Retirement System obtained under the state's Freedom of Information Law. Salaries for educators on Long Island totaled nearly $5.7 billion.
