State park attendance on LI in 2020
State parks on Long Island saw 32.1 million visitors in 2020, up 19.6% from the 26.9 million visitors in 2019, according to the state.
Statewide, visitors last year set a new record, with 78 million traveling to a park, historic site, campground or trail, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said.
Wantagh’s Jones Beach, with 8.3 million attendees, eclipsed Niagara Reservation; the Falls only drew 5.97 visitors because tourism plunged and staying close to home was preferred amid the coronavirus pandemic.
