Here are average scores of 115,963 New York students who took the SAT test the spring of 2017 broken down by their intended college majors, with the most popular majors at the top, according to The College Board, which administers the test. The labels on the bars are shortened, so see the table for the full description of majors. Play around with this! You can isolate either the math scores or the English scores by clicking on them in the color key. And, of course, mouse over the bars for details. You also can sort the table below by total scores, math scores, percentage of test takers, etc. This database was posted on Sept. 26, 2017.


Test scores were not included for two majors, "Library Science / Librarianship" (eight test takers) and "Precision Production" (three test takers) because of the small number who took the test. Javascript chart by amCharts.com.
