Nassau’s post-election turnover
See what Nassau County has paid to scores of departing employees since the County Executive's office changed hands in the 2017 election.
Following the November 2017 election, which saw the county executive's office change hands, Nassau County paid more than $2.5 million to 75 employees who left key departments, with an additional $562,241 in severance and more than $860,000 in total payouts so far going to nine employees who left the Nassau Health Care Corp., according to records obtained under a Freedom of Information Law request.
Here are the details on the 84 employees, who left county government at the end of last year and the beginning of 2018. In addition to unused sick time and vacation payments, those at the health care corporation were entitled to severance. This database was posted on Aug. 10, 2018.
