Nassau County 2014 payroll
Nassau County paid 16,432 employees a total of slightly more than $1 billion in 2014, a 2.5 percent increase, according to records received from the county to comply with a Freedom of Information Law request. The police department accounted for the largest portion of that, $463 million, followed by Nassau County Community College at nearly $132 million. Here are the details.
