College football coaches salaries and contracts

Using public-records requests, Newsday obtained the contracts for college football coaches at 109 public schools and services academies in the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A. See the basic salary details along with the incentives and perks for each of these coaches.

2017 guaranteed money - Represents all earnings the head coach stands to gross during the calendar year. This figure includes base salary along with automatically vesting bonuses for various reasons such as length of service, marketing, public appearances, public relations, team apparel/equipment sponsorships, etc.

Pennsylvania law* - Public universities in Pennsylvania are not subjected to the same public records laws as most other states and are not obligated to release contract info.

Private school - Private schools are not subject to public records laws and are not obligated to release contract information.
