State aid to businesses and nonprofits

The state awards $68.3 million to 103 projects and programs on Long Island as part of a statewide dispersal of $763 million in aid.

The state's Regional Economic Development Council has awarded $68.3 million to 103 projects and programs on Long Island as part of a state assignment of $763 million in capital grants and state tax credits for businesses, local governments and nonprofits.

The Island placed sixth out of the 10 zones in the state. All 10 regions receive funds, but five zones, including New York City, received about $85 million each. The Long Island Regional Economic Development Council, created by Cuomo in 2011, won the award of aid and was in a group receiving about $65 million each. You can read more about the state aid here.
