39 Long Island projects tagged for funding
A Long Island panel has recommended New York State provide money for 39 projects it called "priorities and regionally significant."
Thirty-nine projects costing more than $129 million have been chosen as priorities and regionally significant by the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council, which said they should receive state grants. The recommendations, together with those of nine other councils across the state, are being considered in Albany. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is expected to announce the winners in December. This is the eighth year of Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Councils competition for state grants and tax credits. Here are details on the 39, including total cost and how much each could receive if the Island is a big winner and secures $20 million or is a runner-up with $10 million.
