I enjoy staring at the sky, so this week’s speculation about potential alien megastructures around a star — snappily named KIC 8462852 — glimpsed 1,465 light years away through NASA’s Kepler telescope, really piqued my curiosity. Brings to mind the otherworldly qualities of the 2016 campaign.
