BACKGROUND:

Esteban, 46, of East Northport, is running for a second term.
He has a private law practice and before that was an attorney for the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
He graduated from Hunter College and Touro College Law Center.

ISSUES:

Esteban said public safety and investing in law enforcement has been a priority, including legislation he proposed to reestablish Shot Spotter.
In an effort to keep Long Island affordable, he introduced legislation to not allow an increase in mortgage fees.
To help grow the economy, he has visited more than 200 businesses to offer resources.
