BACKGROUND:

• Doroski, 41, of Mattituck, is also running on the Working Families line. He is making his first run for Town Board, and lost a bid for supervisor in 2019.

• He is innovation director at Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. and previously was a managing partner at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn. He is a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Southold.

• He earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Drew University.

ISSUES:

• Doroski said his campaign is focusing on serving the community and strengthening its way of life. "We haven't gotten out in front of change, we've watched it happen, and COVID-19 accelerated that change," he said.

• There has been a lack of vision and planning for the town, he said. The town's comprehensive plan hasn't been implemented, he said, and it's time to update the town's zoning code, which he said hasn't been done since the '80s. "We have a lack of affordable housing and face environmental challenges. Our way of life appeals to people."

• Doroski said he would take a transparent approach to bring in different stakeholders and work to balance their concerns.
