Hohauser, 56, of Port Washington, is running on the Democratic, Independence, Working Families and Green lines. He is counsel and executive director for the brokerage arm of Morgan Stanley, where he has defended the firm and brokers in civil and criminal cases since 1987. He also serves as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He received his undergraduate degree in economics and mathematics from Binghamton University in 1981 and his law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1984. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986 and is a member of both the Nassau County and American bar associations. He has been a member of the Port Washington Board of Education for six years, and was appointed by former Gov. Eliot Spitzer as a member of the College Council for SUNY-Old Westbury.
