William G. Ford is running for New York State Supreme Court Justice

William G. Ford

Ford, 59, of Brentwood, is running on the Democratic, Conservative and Independence lines. He is an acting Suffolk County Court judge, appointed in January 2014. From 2008-2014, Ford was a district court judge in a criminal trial part. Since 2014, he is the presiding judge in the Suffolk County Drug Treatment Court and the Mental Health Treatment Court. He was also an assistant county attorney for Suffolk County in 2007 to 2008. Ford was a senior trial attorney for Zurich North America from 2000-2007. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Empire State College in 1992 and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1997. Ford was admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1998, the Eastern District of New York and Southern District of New York in 2001 and the U.S. Court of International Trade in 2005. He is a member of the Head Start board of directors and the Suffolk County Bar Association. He is also past president of the New York State District Court Judges Association and a member of the New York Association of Drug Treatment Court Professionals, the Alexander Hamilton Inns of the Court and the Islip Branch of the NAACP.
