Yastrzemski said he'd like to continue working to solve zoning, housing, environmental and budget issues. He and the Southampton board of trustees recently passed residential zoning legislation that would restrict oversized housing on small lots and commercial zoning requiring new infrastructure to match historic buildings. If elected, Yastrzemski would like to open up communication between the supervisor and the people. "I know friends and family that live in every part of town," he said. "I'm in touch with the town, being born and raised in Southampton."
Yastrzemski, 49, of Southampton is running on the Republican, Conservative and Reform party lines. Yastrzemski, who serves as deputy mayor of Southampton Village, was first elected to the Southampton board of trustees in 2008 and is serving his fourth two-year term. He works as senior vice president and financial adviser at Rocco A. Carriero Wealth Partners. He has 30 years of experience in financial advising, holds a chartered retirement planning counselor distinction, and has previously worked at Merrill Lynch. He is a member of Elks Lodge 1574 and volunteers with Boy Scouts Troop 58. He received an associate degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester.
