She said her top priority is to continue the city redevelopment plans of the city council's current Democratic leadership in the aftermath of superstorm Sandy, which devastated the area in 2012. "I have been involved with the proposed reconstruction effort -- unlike most of the other new candidates -- and I know how to work within the party and for the city."
Adamo, 62, who has lived in Long Beach for 32 years, is running in Democratic and Independence party primaries. A 26-year real estate agent in Long Beach, she is a commissioner of the city's housing authority and longtime member of the Long Beach Historical Society, where she has been president and is now vice president. Adamo is a local Democratic committee person. She said she has "some college." She is married and has no children.
