Howard Heckman is running for New York State Supreme Court Justice

Howard Heckman

Heckman, 63, of Center Moriches, is running on the Democratic, Conservative and Independence party lines in the general election. He has been a court attorney and referee at Suffolk County Supreme Court since 2012. From 1988 to 2011, Heckman served as principal law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Melvyn Tanenbaum and from 1979 to 1988, Heckman worked as an assistant district attorney for Suffolk County. He received his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1974 and graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 1977. Heckman was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1977, the New York bar in 1978, and the Eastern District of the New York Federal District Court in 1983. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
